French Writing Desk
A sculptural French writing desk defined by its asymmetrical silhouette and cantilevered black laminate work surface. The offset top creates a dynamic profile, balanced by a solid oak drawer cabinet on one end and an angled, tapered support leg on the other. Slim brass pulls and a softened edge detail lend a restrained mid-century sensibility, while the contrast between warm wood and dark laminate keeps the piece visually grounded.
Recently restored. The laminate top has been waxed, veneer losses along the edges have been carefully patched, and the remaining surfaces have been cleaned and refinished to preserve the desk’s original character.
Vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use. Subtle surface marks and variations remain, contributing to the piece’s patina and authenticity.
